Perparing God's Children to recieve The Eucharist
The Eucharist is the very sacrifice of the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus which he instituted to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until his return in glory. Thus he entrusted to his Church this memorial of his death and Resurrection. It is a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a paschal banquet, in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.

R.C.I.C. Program
Rite of Christian Initiation for Children
If the child is 7 years old and has not yet been baptized, he/she must enroll in the R.C.I.C. program. R.C.I.C. is a 2 year program that will prepare the child to receive the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion.
The initiation of children of catechetical age is a process based on their personal conversion. It is adapted to their spiritual progress and growth of faith rather than on cognitive knowledge. Because the criteria for initiation are based on assessing conversion of heart and action (RCIA #42 and 75), there is no timeline for initiating these children. It could take several years, if necessary. “The duration of the catechumenate will depend on the grace of God and on various circumstances…” (RCIA #76)
